How to Deal With Bugs

Bugs. It’s probably the most appropriately named listing in the dictionary. They will drive you crazy, they can be downright painful, and there’s really no way to avoid them. Sadly, it’s the first reason people mention when telling you why they won’t go camping, let alone portaging. So let’s discuss some of the ways to deal with them as best we can. • Keeping away from bugs – what you can do to ensure you’re where they’re not
• Don’t make yourself a target – No sense attracting them
• Repelling bugs – what you can do to shoo them away effectively(Surprisingly, waving your arms around and yelling doesn’t work)
• Dealing with the inevitable – No matter how hard you try, chances are that even with the best of strategies, you’re still going to get bit, and are going to have to deal with it. (Sorry)
