Venice is a walking town, but it’s not built to walk around it, as in circumnavigate. Alleys lead to canals. I found this out today when I found myself not knowing what I wanted to do, so I just started walking. Then I got this idea to walk around Venice. I mean all around Venice. It was fun and really gave me a sense of the differences between the areas. It also helped me get my directional bearings as well. But mostly, it gave me a chance to say that I walked all around Venice.
The route. I avoided the industrial areas, military bases, stadiums and anywhere where there are cars. For example I skipped the top right section (warehouses etc.) and the extreme left (west - where the cars are), otherwise made pretty good progress. The blip to the south island is a GPS mistake.
